FEATURED PROJECTS
Painting is a way of looking at the world more closely, more appreciatively. My love of art began when I was quite young, as I drew my family and the natural world around me in Connecticut. Now, as an established professional artist, that same love still motivates me to create for others, whether it is an informal portrait of their child, grandchild, or a favorite garden plant tended to for years.

Animals reveal themselves through all their gazes, movements, and sounds. Our pets become family members and much-loved companions as we spend time walking with them, curling up with them, laughing with them and admiring their unique spirit. I carefully observe the animals I paint, because no two dogs are alike, just as no two humans are alike. That spirit, that soul is what I strive to reflect through my art.

A formal portrait honors a special occasion in a way that no other object can. It is a legacy, a way of celebrating the present or the past, and those who contributed to it. Whether a wedding portrait or a retirement portrait, it is an honor to create this gift to future generations. I encourage my subjects to include objects of special meaning into their portrait, such as a book they wrote or a tool used for many years. A portrait can often tell a story to those who look closely.
